British Lieutenant-Colonel James Corden has been denied entry to the Balthazar restaurant in New York after two unpleasant incidents with staff. The owner, Keith McNally, shared the situation on social media, calling James “Kretten”, but he forgave him after he apologized and after all the presenter is no longer banned.

“James Corden is a very talented comedian, but he’s a bit cretin and the most unfortunate customer who’s been at Balthazar since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.” This is how Keith McNally begins the message, shared on Instagram, on Monday, reporting two cases in which the British presenter was unhappy with restaurant staff.

In June, the “Late Late Show” host found a hair in his food and is said to have ordered a “round of drinks” to make up for it and discourage him from writing a negative comment online about the establishment. The second incident dates back to October 9, and it was all derailed because the announcer’s wife found “a little bit of egg white” in her yolk omelet, according to McNally. The dish came back, but when it came back it was accompanied wrongly. Corden was accused of yelling “like crazy” at the waiter and hinting that he should probably go into the kitchen and make an omelette. The episode ended with the crew offering two glasses of champagne.

“I don’t normally blacklist people, but today I blacklisted James Corden,” Keith McNally announced that the British broadcaster had been banned from Balthazar.

Hours later, the owner reversed the same decision, and announced, also on Instagram, that James Corden had called him to apologize. “Someone humble enough to apologize to a tired tramp like me (and my team) doesn’t deserve to be banned anywhere,” the restaurateur said.
