Is it surprising? London is the best city in the world to live (and visit) in 2024

The top 100 of the vibrancy group has one entry from Portugal – they highlighted monuments and public transport.

London was a big hit.

The often-controversial royal family, iconic landmarks like Big Ben and the sometimes questionable cuisine (yes, we’re talking about that bean-filled breakfast). Anyone who says the United Kingdom is a boring country is lying. In fact, it’s the world’s best city to live (or visit) in 2024, according to a ranking by real estate consultancy Resonance. The big winner is, you guessed it, London, the British capital.

This decision, which is controversial to many, is considered on various parameters such as quality of life, people’s kindness and prosperity. Added to these were other relevant factors, such as the number of trips to other destinations at airports, the number of parks, ratings of cultural attractions, restaurants and nightlife (taking into account reviews on “TripAdvisor”) and school status. Education of citizens.

In second place is Paris, the capital of France. The city has praised its sustainability efforts and the fact that it will host the next edition of the Olympic Games in 2024.

Closing the stage is New York, the city that never sleeps and features some of the world’s most iconic buildings and areas, such as Times Square, Chrysler or the Empire State Building.

The only Portuguese city on the list is Lisbon: it ranks 32nd. The group highlights some of the city’s monuments, such as the São Jorge Castle, and the fact that we can go almost everywhere on foot (although it appreciates the public transport network).

Check out the top 10 best cities:

– London
