‘Pulsar Fusion’, a UK startup aimed to become a major player in Europe’s nuclear fusion technology, last week tested a rocket engine using hybrid fuels made from high density polyethylene (HDPE) and nitrous oxide oxidizer.

To Richard Dinan, CEO of the company, the results were very satisfactory, and ‘Pulsar Fusion’ was one of the few companies in the world to develop and test the technology.
The use of plastic waste for launching rockets is seen in a positive light because this material is highly polluting and has not yet been recycled globally.
Therefore, the startup wants to present the fusion propulsion engine in a standard test by 2025, and then send a rocket into orbit in 2027.
