IKEA Portugal has released the results for the fiscal year 2023 (from 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023), recording a positive sales performance of €611 million, representing an increase of 10.8%, compared to the previous year.

In the same period, globally, Swedish retailers recorded a growth of 5.7% (totaling €41.7 billion).

In addition to the positive results, the company has opened new touchpoints in different regions of the country, with a focus on opening three new planning and ordering studios in Vila Nova de Gaia, Almada and Lagos. Lisbon and Madeira are nearing completion and are scheduled to open at the end of this year.

“IKEA Portugal sales are a reflection of the growing importance of home in people’s lives and also of our continued investment in improving the shopping experience for our customers. We remain strongly committed to improving the lives of a large and growing number of Portuguese people back home, ensuring sustainable, high-quality and affordable solutions,” says Hélène Duvorne. CEO and CEO of IKEA Portugal: “We positively impact the lives of our customers, our employees and our planet at the same time.”

IKEA Portugal also admitted that, following the commitment made to logistics transformation, accessibility, sustainability and people, it expects to invest around €60 million during fiscal year 2024 in these same priorities.

The retailer confirmed that a significant portion of this investment will be directed toward lowering prices.
