The Idanha-a-Nova Health Center is undergoing rehabilitation works to improve the infrastructure, in order to provide more and better conditions for its users, doctors, nurses and staff, as revealed by the local municipality that is promoting this intervention.
“The work is worth €149,600 and is supposed to be completed this year and includes improvements to the interior and exterior of the building, including energy efficiency and modernization of spaces and equipment,” the Idanha Nova City Council tells the press.
“Although the maintenance of the health center is not the responsibility of the Council, we intend to conclude an agreement with the Municipal Health Unit of Castelo Branco to have the municipality, supported by funds from community funds, undertake this work and thus improve the process and ensure better health services in the municipality,” says Armindo Jacinto, mayor of Idanhanes.
The mayor indicated that this investment falls within the framework of the Chamber’s “health strategy” and “aims to provide quality, proximity, luxury and quality of life medical and nursing care to the population, in cooperation with the National Health Service.” .
In this context, and as we also mentioned, the health center “will be part of the pioneering projects to integrate dentists into primary health care at the national level.” In this sense, the information provided declares that the dental chair and other equipment have already been placed in a designated place in the health center. The municipality confirms that the investment made amounts to approximately 20 thousand euros.
On the other hand, the same information also indicates that the Chamber “acquired telemedicine equipment, in order to enhance local medical services and facilitate communication between professionals from various health units.”
