The Ministry of Health stressed the importance of completing the course of vaccination against COVID-19. According to the folder, those with overdue doses can go to the mail at any time with a vaccination card.

Last month, the federal government launched the National Vaccination Movement, a campaign aimed at resuming the nation’s high vaccination coverage rate.

In the first phase, the immunosuppressive bivalent dose will be applied, targeting the priority group of the elderly over 70 years of age, immunosuppressed people, indigenous peoples and coelombulas.

However, citizens who have not yet completed the initial vaccination course, with two doses, or who have not received the third and fourth booster doses, can also search for the health units to be vaccinated. This group is vaccinated with a monovalent vaccine.

According to the ministry, full immunization is necessary to maintain immune memory against COVID-19.

According to a study of 1,500 people by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), six months after immunization with the second dose, antibodies decreased among those surveyed. With the strengthening of immunization, there has been a significant increase in protection against coronavirus.

Bivalent vaccine

To take the bivalent vaccine against Covid-19, which prevents the most dangerous types of the virus, it is necessary to complete the vaccination course with four doses, while respecting a period of four months since receiving the last dose.

In March, the government intends to extend the double dose to all residents over the age of 12.
