Around 150 schools in England may not be fully or partially open due to safety concerns. The prime minister blamed insufficient investment in educational institutions.

More than 150 schools in England are at risk of returning to school with restrictions, which have created controversy over the total or partial closure of physical spaces.

The decision was taken by the government fearing that the deterioration of some buildings made of autoclaved cellulose concrete composed of lime, cement, sand and aluminum powder could pose a safety hazard.

But there are those who criticize him for not acting in the beginning. Responding to these criticisms, the CEO said that they were unaware of the situation for a long time and needed to take action. Also, out of 20 thousand schools on spectrum, only 150 schools will be affected.

Sunak was also accused of not fully funding the school rebuilding program in England when he was finance minister. The head of the British administration rejects the allegations, saying that “one of the first things” he did as a minister was “announcing a new plan to rebuild 500 schools over 10 years. That’s equivalent to about 50 schools being rehabilitated. Rebuilt a year, if you look at what we’ve been doing in the last decade, that’s what we’ve been doing.” Completely consistent with what has always been done: about 50 schools per year, rehabilitated or rebuilt,” Sunak explained.

The news caught schools by surprise and are now scrambling for solutions that include returning to online classes as the Covid-19 pandemic unfolds.
