Italian Electronic Duo Releases Final Chapter in Four-Element Tetralogy

Italian electronic music duo Frank Sinutre has released “Brother Fire”, the lead single and accompanying video from its latest album Propositi per il Nuovo Anno Galattico, marking the conclusion of a 12-year conceptual project inspired by the four classical elements.

The single arrives alongside a new music video directed by Giovanni Tutti and serves as the final instalment in a tetralogy that began in 2014. The Mantua-based duo said the project evolved organically over more than a decade, culminating in an album centred on the symbolism of fire, sunlight and electromagnetic radiation.

According to the band, Propositi per il Nuovo Anno Galattico closes a thematic cycle that started with the aquatic influences of Musique pour les Poissons, continued through the air-inspired The Boy Who Believed He Could Fly, and later explored earth in 200.000.000 Steps.

“With this message, we kindly request the broadcasting, streaming, or inclusion in a Spotify playlist of ‘Brother Fire’, the single that accompanies the release of the new album,” the group said in a statement accompanying the launch.

A Concept Album Built Around Fire and Human Connection

Exploring Fire as Humanity’s First “Screen”

The new record positions fire not only as a natural element but also as a symbol of storytelling, reflection and early forms of entertainment.

“Fire was probably the original screen,” the band said in promotional notes accompanying the release.

The statement draws parallels between prehistoric human interaction with fire and modern relationships with digital media. The group references early human civilisation’s gradual acceptance of fire around 1.5 million years ago, describing it as a transformative moment in social and cultural development.

“At first, Homo Erectus was afraid of it, as were most animals, after all. But around 1.5 million years ago, he began to make peace with it. It must have been an incredible revolution at the time.”

The band continues the metaphor by describing fire as a focal point for storytelling and contemplation.

“He could sit comfortably around it, telling stories and imagining how future humans would one day invent the Zippo lighter. He could even stare at it alone, thinking, asking it what to do next.”

The concept ultimately frames fire as a precursor to modern entertainment technologies.

“Beautiful like the sun and made of the same substance, fire was the screen of those times.”

The group added: “Not that you could roast a mammoth on a screen, but in other ways, it’s certainly the ancestor of all entertainment.”

Listening Experience Designed Around Atmosphere

The duo has encouraged listeners to experience the track in a reflective setting tied to the album’s central imagery.

“Brother Fire is meant to be listened to in front of a fire (a gas stove or barbecue will do), looking for an answer within it.”

The album was produced by Frank Sinutre at Saletta Studios in Sermide, Italy, while mixing duties were handled by Francesco Zacchi at Into the Loop Sound Lab in Aylesbury. Mastering was completed by Leo Magnolfi at EL-SOP Recording Studio in Florence. The project has been released through TheDustRealm Music.

Experimental Instruments Define Frank Sinutre’s Identity

Founded in 2011 in Mantua, Frank Sinutre has established a reputation within Europe’s experimental electronic scene through its use of custom-built instruments and immersive live performances.

Among the group’s signature creations is the ReactaBox, a MIDI controller inspired by the Reactable platform, allowing performers to manipulate loops, sequences and effects through physical objects placed on an interactive surface. The duo also developed the DrummaBox, an Arduino-based acoustic drum machine, and the RotoTune, which integrates electric motors with guitar performance techniques.

Traditional instrumentation, including guitar, synths, bass, vocoder and lap steel guitar, remains part of the band’s broader sonic approach.

Their concerts are additionally supported by home-built algorithmic visual systems, where live imagery is altered dynamically through incoming audio signals.

Over the past decade, Frank Sinutre has released six albums, including a soundtrack project and a remix compilation, while performing more than 350 live shows across Italy and wider Europe.

Discography Reflects Expanding International Reach

The duo’s first major release, La Colpa della Leonessa in 2012, served as the soundtrack to a theatre production and was issued through Vittek Records. The work later featured at the Festival de Teatro Social de Valencia in Spain.

Subsequent releases included Musique pour les Poissons in 2014 through New York-based System Recordings, The Boy Who Believed He Could Fly in 2017 via New Model Label, and Sunset with Sunrise Remixes in 2018.

Their 2020 album 200.000.000 Steps further developed the quartet of elemental themes before the arrival of Propositi per il Nuovo Anno Galattico this year.

The release of “Brother Fire” now brings that long-running artistic cycle to a close, completing a project that has shaped the group’s creative direction for more than a decade.
