Activision announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 10 and provided the first teaser for the game, a mix of live action introducing the new Makarov and a few seconds of cutscenes created with the game’s used engine.
The full reveal date was set for August 17, but when it revealed the title, Activision didn’t announce the game’s platforms, and the listing on the official Microsoft digital store says it will only arrive for Xbox Series consoles, and doesn’t mention the Xbox One version.
Sony has yet to show the game page, but in the teaser title, Makarov describes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as a PS5 and PS4 game, which differs from Microsoft’s listing, which refers to it as a next-gen game.
Until the official announcement from Activision, we’ll be undercover trying to understand which companies were wrong or whether Activision will leave the Xbox One out of the launch.
