Hello, my name is Noelia Arruda, and “A Saúde Fertil da Mulher” is a segment broadcast on Radio Açores 9 and then made available on the podcast, where we will address the essence of women throughout life, at different stages of life. A woman's life cycle, from life in the womb to post-menopause, always with the aim of protecting and enhancing her physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

I would like to invite all women to open their minds and hearts to transformation, because it is truly possible to change your life!

The idea of linking these two words “nutrition” and “fertility” is very modern! The truth is that these two topics are related. In Western countries, infertility affects 1 in 7 couples of reproductive age, which equates to 14% of the population.

Many couples look for other solutions, but only after several failures with in vitro fertilization or other medically assisted technologies do they begin to wonder why they cannot create an embryo.

My answer is simple – both eggs and sperm need nutrition to be fertile.

The literature indicates that body composition is associated with infertility in men and women. Hey

Eating habits, nutritional deficits, lifestyle adopted in terms of sleep hygiene, physical activity, alcohol and smoking habits. These habits have a decisive impact on egg health and sperm quality.

It is important that the eggs and sperm are nourished beforehand, and I would add that it is equally important to understand whether there are food reserves for the formation of a viable embryo and whether these reserves contain specific nutrients so that nesting and implantation occur intensively and efficiently. .

There are foods that enhance fertility, so it is necessary to work on the pillars of a fertility diet that focuses on the four dimensions of the human being (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual).

I conclude with the following reflection: Food for every day. And your health? Live well…eat better!

See you next week!
