The Portuguese Football Federation reported on Monday that Fabio Carvalho has given up representing the Portuguese under-21 team. And Fabio Carvalho, 20, has already represented England in the youth ranks, having been “recruited” for Portugal’s Under-21s to qualify for the European Championship. In Liverpool, he played 16 matches and scored two goals this season.
Portugal is in Group A at the European Nations Cup, with host country Georgia (June 21), the Netherlands (24) and Belgium (27) as contenders. The best two teams from each of the four groups advance to the quarter-finals.
