The UK is a former EU member state that left the EU on 31 January 2020. Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union (Brexit), following the June 2016 referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union. EU-UK relations Mainly governed by four treaties:

EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement
Following the referendum on the United Kingdom’s membership of the Union, in June 2016, the European Union and the United Kingdom moved forward with negotiations for the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union (Brexit). Brexit negotiations began in June 2017 and ended when the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement entered into force on 31 January 2020 at 24:00 (Central European Time).
The Withdrawal Agreement was agreed and signed by the EU and the UK. This Agreement defines the Terms The UK has formally left the EUAccording to Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union.
The agreement covers issues such as the protection of citizens’ rights and a financial agreement between the EU and the UK, as well as a guarantee to avoid a physical border through a specific protocol between Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Post-Brexit deals
The EU and the UK began after the UK officially left the EU on 31 January 2020 Negotiations on their future relationship. Although agreements have been signed by both parties, Brexit is not without important consequences for citizens, businesses and other stakeholders in the EU and the UK.
