Across the country, there are restrictions on many health services.

Hospitals in Barreiro, Santarém, Abrantes and Portimão, according to information available on the National Health Service (SNS) portal, have closed emergency rooms due to lack of human resources.

Currently, Nossa Senhora do Rosario Hospital, located in Barreiro, is the only hospital in the country with closed emergency services (pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics).

In the Central Tagus region, Santarém Dr. Manuel Constancio (Abrantes) Hospitals have closed their urgent obstetrics and gynecology services.

In the southern region of the country, the only air-conditioned health unit is Portimão Hospital, which has closed its obstetric emergency department.

Although no further closures have been recorded, many services are restricted, with emergency services partially closed during certain times. This is the case for pediatrics in the Viseu pediatric service, which is consulted between 8:15 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. today.

In the North Zone, Braga Hospital sent an obstetric emergency between 08:00 and 24:00.

The Emergency Obstetrics Services of the Hospital de Santa Maria (Central Lisbon) and the Gynecology and Obstetrics Services of the Hospital Garcia de Orta (Almada) are consulted 24 hours a day only to receive cases indicated by INEM.

The SNS Executive Directorate advises the population to always contact “Linha SOS Grávida” [808 24 24 24] Before going to the gynecology emergency service.
