A new music collaboration bringing together singer-songwriter John Krondes and several of Elvis Presley’s original musicians and backing vocalists is gaining international radio attention, as broadcasters across multiple continents add the track “A Dream for Peace” to playlists and syndicated programming.

Released globally through PlayMPE on 17 April 2026, the project has been positioned by promoters as both a musical tribute to Presley’s legacy and a broader appeal for peace and unity during a period of geopolitical instability. According to promotional materials distributed this month, the release is receiving airplay and media engagement in countries including the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Spain, Canada and the United States, among others.

The track blends Krondes’ orchestral composition “Classical Dream” with “If I Can Dream”, the politically charged anthem originally performed by Presley during his landmark 1968 Comeback Special. Written by Walter Earl Brown in the aftermath of the assassinations of Dr Martin Luther King Jr and Senator Robert F Kennedy, the song became closely associated with themes of social unity and hope during a turbulent period in American history.

The latest production was reportedly developed under the guidance of Joe Esposito, Presley’s longtime friend, road manager and best man, before Esposito’s death. The initiative sought to reunite members of Presley’s historic recording circle with a contemporary artist capable of carrying forward the so-called “Memphis Sound” that defined much of Presley’s late-1960s catalogue.

Among the contributors are members of the famed American Sound Studio Band, whose work on “Suspicious Minds” and numerous chart records helped shape the sound of modern American popular music. The production also features Presley’s original backing groups, including The Jordanaires, The Imperials, The Stamps Quartet and The Sweet Inspirations, alongside soprano Millie Kirkham and Presley’s original horn section.

Industry observers note that nostalgia-driven projects tied to iconic catalogues continue to perform strongly across heritage radio formats, particularly among adult contemporary, classic hits and Americana audiences. However, promoters behind “A Dream for Peace” are attempting to position the release as more than a retrospective exercise, framing it instead as a contemporary message-driven campaign intended to resonate with modern audiences.

“This is more than nostalgia. This is musical history in motion,” the release states, as organisers encourage broadcasters worldwide to support the record’s peace-focused message.

The campaign arrives at a time when legacy music properties remain commercially valuable across streaming, radio and live entertainment sectors. Presley’s estate and catalogue continue to attract global audiences decades after the singer’s death, aided by renewed cultural interest generated through documentaries, film projects and anniversary programming.

For Krondes, the project represents a high-profile association with one of the most recognisable brands in music history. Promotional material describes his vocal performance as emotionally aligned with Presley’s mission of unity and compassion, while also presenting him as a contemporary interpreter of the Memphis-rooted sound associated with American Sound Studio recordings.

The release has also benefited from strong support within specialist radio networks, particularly among stations serving classic rock, adult hits, gospel, country and non-commercial audiences. The campaign’s distributors argue that radio broadcasters are playing an active role in amplifying a broader humanitarian message amid ongoing international tensions and political division.

Promotional outreach connected to the launch has included international interviews and targeted media campaigns aimed at expanding awareness across English-speaking and European markets. Supporters of the project say its growing international traction reflects continued appetite for music associated with themes of optimism and collective resilience.

The release further underscores how legacy intellectual property within the music business continues to generate new commercial opportunities through collaborations, remastered works and reinterpretations involving contemporary artists. By combining Presley-associated musicians with newly recorded material, the project seeks to bridge multiple generations of listeners while preserving the commercial and cultural value of the Memphis recording tradition.

While it remains unclear whether “A Dream for Peace” will achieve mainstream chart success, the campaign has already secured notable attention across heritage radio circles and Elvis fan communities internationally. Organisers continue to market the release as both a tribute to Presley’s enduring influence and a call for global solidarity.

“From the spirit of Elvis Presley… To the vision of Joe Esposito… To the voice of John Krondes… The dream lives on,” the release concludes.
