With the participation of the President of the Municipal Council of CIMBAL, Antonio Botta, the diabetes ward of the local health unit of Baixo Alentejo, located in the Jose Joaquim Fernandez Hospital, in Beja, was inaugurated on the 8th of this month.
This project aims to provide the best healthcare for children, pregnant women, adults and the elderly in Baixo Alentejo with diabetes, but with similar monitoring in other regions of the country. In the case of young people, they will have the opportunity to have an “insulin pump”, the most innovative treatment for those suffering from type 1 diabetes.
This support, according to a press release sent to Planície, “was unanimously approved at the regular meeting of the Inter-Municipal Council of CIMBAL in March, and all the municipalities of Baixo Alentejo participated in the same way to equip the medical office, nursing office, nutrition and psychology office and waiting room in the diabetes ward ” .
This unit dedicated to the treatment of diabetes at the Hospital de Beja was opened for CIMBAL, “the way in which the mayors of Baixo Alentejo should recognize and thank for the work of all health professionals working on behalf of the people of our territory” said the contact.
