The number of visitors from China reached 724,342, up 989.4% year on year, 293,927 of whom were on a single visa.

Of the nine cities in the Pearl River Delta, 426,991 visitors entered the province, 49.8% of whom came from the neighboring city of Zhuhai. From Hong Kong, 59,135 visitors arrived and 5,800 from Taiwan.

Between January and July, Macau received 4,717,236 visitors, an increase of 41.4% over the same period in 2020, with the number of tourists (2,471,392) and day visitors (2,245,844) increasing by 57, 5% and 26.6 % Straight.

The Dubai Exhibition and Convention Center (DSEC) added that the average length of stay for visitors was 1.6 days, plus 0.2 days on an annual basis.

Macau, whose economy is highly dependent on tourism, received nearly 40 million visitors in 2019, but only 5,896,848 visitors in 2020.

Since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, the region has recorded only 63 cases of the disease, but despite the controlled situation, the region has lost visitors, and even after the timid recovery that occurred in the first months of this year, Macau is still far from the numbers for 2019 , with a major economic impact on the gaming capital of the world.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,381,911 deaths worldwide, among the more than 208.5 million new coronavirus infections recorded since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the latest report from Agence France-Presse.

In Portugal, since March 2020, 17,601 people have died and 1,009,571 cases of infection have been recorded, according to the Directorate General of Health.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which was discovered in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in countries such as the United Kingdom, India, South Africa, Brazil or Peru.
