Today (26) the Federal District government has informed that it will begin vaccination against covid-19 for adults aged 35 and over on Thursday (29). The Department of Health will receive 43,000 doses for the first dose application. For the second dose, 122,000 doses will be available.

Tomorrow (27) there will be an anticipation for the vaccination of teachers, while from Thursday to Saturday there will be a class summary. In DF, a portion of teachers received doses of Janssen’s immunizing agent, with a single dose, to anticipate completion of the vaccine course before classes resume in the second semester.

The federal district has sued in the Supreme Court of Justice (STJ) to claim immunization agents additional amount, 250,000 doses. The GDF says it has received too little and that it has vaccinated people from other countries.

The expectation was that the Ministry of Health was far from what it needed. What happened was a greater vaccination than the ministry expected,” said the Secretary of the Civil House of the Federal District, Gustavo Rocha.

To date, the Department of Health has transferred 2,027,800 doses from the Federal District.

Health Minister Usni Okumoto noted that there was a separate large batch for the second dose and asked people to complete the vaccination course. Recommended “People with this week’s date on their card don’t forget to go”.

joint effort

Last weekend, DF made a joint effort to vaccinate people over the age of 37. 138.8 thousand people were vaccinated, 112,600 with the first dose and the rest with the second or single dose. Until the previous week, vaccination in DF was done by online appointment. After numerous criticisms related to the instability of the site and the lack of vacancies, the government decided to adopt a new procedure: just go to a health center with an identification document proving the age of the citizen to be vaccinated.

delta variable

DF managers once again expressed concern about the delta variant of the novel coronavirus. According to Osni Okumoto, to date, there are 45 confirmed cases of the variant and the capital already has community transmission, when the first can no longer be identified.

The cases were registered at the support hospital set up to care for COVID-19 patients, including health workers in the unit. “One of the doubts is that they could have been visitors. But there is no confirmation. It is the beginning of an investigation,” the health minister said.
