According to the Ministry of Health, last year 177 doctors, 131 nurses and 140 nursing technicians were temporarily appointed.

Governor Ibanés Rocha on his Twitter account highlighted the importance of hiring these new workers. “With the arrival of these professionals, we hope to ease the difficulties that the population faces in the service,” he explained.

The Federal District government also announced that it will allocate 86 beds in various hospitals in the capital to take care of COVID-19 patients. The occupancy of beds in intensive care units for covid-19 has reached 91.5%, according to a bulletin updated at 11 a.m. today.
