Campo Grande has expanded to include 32 health units that conduct Covid RT-PCR tests on an automated basis, that is, without the need for scheduling. The new sites have been open since Monday (7) and are intended to facilitate access to testing to interrupt the chain of transmission of the virus in an early manner.
“The earlier a patient is diagnosed with infection, the earlier he begins home isolation, which prevents others from contracting the virus,” explains José Mauro Filo, Municipal Health Minister.
The service began automatic ordering on the first day of June, when 24 units that were already doing collection by appointment began receiving suspicious patients at fixed times, according to residents’ request.
Only those between the ages of the third and eighth day with respiratory symptoms can perform the collection. “It is essential that the suspected case has criteria to be collected, and no one who decides to seek the health unit just to clear suspicion will be dealt with,” the secretary continues.
