Campinas has been free of new cases of monkeypox for a week

Campinas has been without confirmation of new cases of monkeypox for a week. The bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health on Monday, November 28, also indicates that 63 of the 93 patients in Campinas diagnosed with the disease have left isolation. Others are monitored on an outpatient basis, without risk and with good progression.

The patients, 86 men and seven women, ranged in age from 11 to 57 years.

Care for patients suspected of having the disease is available in health centers, emergency rooms, emergency rooms and in the reference center for STDs, HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis.

The main symptom is pimple-like or pustule-like lesions that can appear on the face, inside the mouth, or on other parts of the body, such as the hands, feet, chest, genitals, or anus;

Swelling in the neck, armpits and groin.

– Tired.

Muscle pain.

Infected people must remain isolated until the pest “shells” fall off, which takes about 21 days.

Close contacts should watch for symptoms and avoid physical contact with others.

Caregivers and family members should not touch the pests and use caution when handling clothing, sheets, and towels that have been used by an infected person.

Wash your hands frequently or use an alcohol-based hand rub.

Clean high-touch surfaces frequently.

Wear a mask in places where there are crowds of people.

Avoid skin-to-skin contact in crowded environments.

Use trusted sources to obtain information about the disease.
