The municipality of Braga is again promoting the REDMAY project, an initiative aimed at people over 55 years of age who are provided free of charge with proximity services in the field of social and mental health.
The project, which will cover all the parishes of the municipality of Braga, will start on Wednesday 1 December and run until 28 November 2022.
Enhancing the quality of life and combating social isolation are two of the main objectives of REDMAY, which has a technical team of professionals comprising a social worker, a nurse and a neuropsychologist, who are responsible for carrying out each of the procedures in its different parishes.
Thus, free actions will be developed that provide services such as: social assistance, mediation with social services / responses; Nursing (counseling and examinations); Neuropsychology (cognitive evaluation and stimulation) and Psychology (functional stimulation); Recreational, sports and cultural activities.
REDMAY’s technical team will remain in each parish for seven business days, with business hours from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
The project also has a helpline – 925453772 – through which more information about the services provided can be obtained.
REDMAY relies on the cooperation of parish councils and unions, and primary partners in the implementation and dissemination of these services for the best effective response and proximity to seniors.
