The creation of the Independent Commission for the Analysis of National Titles (CIATN), in 2018, arose as a result of a claim made by Sporting, which won four more Portuguese League titles after winning four times (1922/1923, 1933/1934). , 1935/1936 and 1937/1938) the Portuguese Championship, held between 1921/1922 and 1937/1938, the names of the winners of which, according to the lions, must be included in the list of national champion clubs.

The winners of the Campeonato de Portugal between the 1921/1922 and 1933/1934 seasons should be considered national champions, as well as the winners of the Campeonato das Ligas (between 1934/1935 and 1937/1938) that precede the national championship. The winners of the Portuguese Championship between 1934/1935 and 1937/1938 should be recognized as Portuguese Cup winners.
