Maritimo coach Vasco Sebra would like to count on Rodrigo Pinho for the new season, the 31-year-old Brazilian striker, who has not entered the accounts of Benfica coach Roger Schmidt, for the 2022/2023 season.
In an interview with RTP MadeiraThe Al Jazira coach praised the former Maritimo striker – before moving to Benfica in the summer of last year, he played for the Madeiran side for four seasons, during which he scored 39 goals in 117 games – and a definitive return from the front. To the Navy is a scenario that satisfies everyone.
“He’s a player we appreciate and I won’t deny it. He’s a Maritimo player, a Maritimo player, a player who loves the club, loves the fans of the club, our members and our fans also love Rodrygo a lot and we as coaches, really like Rodrygo, a very classy and technically advanced player, with good touch skills. He was very happy in Maritimo.”
When asked if there was a real possibility that Rodrigo Pinho could become Maritimo’s reinforcement, Vasco Cebra did not close that door, although that depends on Benfica. “This is a very difficult question for the coach. Let’s imagine that Benfica released him. Of course, Maritimo will always be a team that always expects him, and because of the quality of the player we will always have some expectations of being sensitive to understand if there is such a possibility.”
