Albufeira Square gives way to an “urban project” and there are no bulls :: Touro e Ouro

The project includes significant spatial diversity, with residential areas, cultural areas, commercial spaces for co-living, gardens and relaxation spaces, which will not include bullfighting.

After Viana do Castelo and Póvoa de Varzim, Praça de Toros de Albufeira is another one that no longer hosts bullfighting shows.

The Prótoiro Federation announced on February 17, 2021 a project to extend bullfighting to the Algarve.

Owned by the late Matador Fernando dos Santos, Praça de Toros de Albufeira opened in 1982, being a bullfighting track that for countless successive years received more shows during the year.
