Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, opened in 2014 and has risen in the rankings of international airports since then. Last year, the air and airport consultancy that conducts the awards ranked Hamad the third best airport in the world, but the COVID-19 pandemic has helped reveal the best the airport can offer. The Qatari government has also made investments in the national airline – Qatar Airways – and its airport. Results are in sight.

Qatar Airways passengers with a connecting flight at Hamad International Airport can enjoy free city tours, free accommodation and food (depending on the duration of the layover), and VIP transfers, which can be met by airline staff. Passengers upon arrival and guided through the airport to the drop off flight.
