Saturday was also the day to denounce the implementation of a vaccine against Covid-19. Elderly caregiver Marilia da Conceição de Nazari, 57, took the first dose of Pfizer at the health center in the Paraiso neighborhood. She claims that when she came back on time to take the second dose of the same immunizing device, she had already received the second dose of AstraZeneca.

“She showed me she was using AstraZeneca, and I gave my card to another girl. I took my card from the other girl and walked away with my arm bleeding. In the afternoon, I was so sick, I was in doubt. I mentioned to two other people that I had the vaccination, the first from Pfizer and the second From AstraZeneca. Everyone was scared,” she reported.

She adds, “I called my niece who is a nurse and asked her if there was a problem. She was amazed, and she said it was very dangerous and said it absolutely could not happen.”

The elderly caregiver says the nurse who gave the vaccine would have tried to hide the error. “Patricia, who was the one who applied the vaccine, asked me for the card and I handed it in. I tried to tear off the card saying I received the second dose of AstraZeneca. Another nurse told me I was wrong. He said the vaccine I received was Comirnaty from AstraZeneca. I explained that I had already been notified. And that I knew it was from Pfizer. My son forbade her to take the card off the card and I did file a police report,” she denounced.

With a note, the municipality of Belo Horizonte says that when there is an application of different immunizing agents, the directives of the Ministry of Health are to monitor each case, and not to indicate a third dose of the vaccine.

The user will be monitored by the municipal health department and the health center teams will be directed again.
