Michelle Davis went through something that millions of people experience every day. However, she did not know that she was in real and deadly danger. The New Zealander thought she had a pimple on her nose, but it turns out the spot is a common form of skin cancer.
A red ball appeared on Michelle’s nose in April 2022. However, since the woman thought it was a pimple, rather than a special event in people’s lives, she ignored the issue.
“I didn’t understand why I had a pimple at 52,” he said in an interview with Southwest News Service (SWNS). She thought the offense would go away.
Months passed with the New Zealander covering the stain with concealer, always hoping it would go away. However, when the ball takes on a purple hue, Michel’s friend raises suspicions that it might be something beyond what he had imagined.
“I told you it was just a pimple. I didn’t want to believe it.” It wasn’t until January 2023, after the spot became sore, that Michelle tried to squeeze it out. “Nothing happened. Then I bled a lot.”
The woman had already noticed that something was wrong, but it took another month to finally see a doctor. It was a shock when I found out that the diagnosis was basal cell carcinoma, a type of cancer that usually appears in areas exposed to ultraviolet light.
The medical staff informs Michelle that surgery on her nose will be necessary to remove the cancer. In April of this year, the woman passed through the operating table and came out with a crooked nose. However, she considers herself lucky to be one of the few who survived cancer without losing her nose.
Since she is prone to skin cancer, Michelle is monitored monthly. Today, you want to educate the population about the dangers of the condition and to pay attention to the appearance of blemishes and spots on the skin.
“If I had ignored it, it would have grown larger. It might have become so large that it cannot be removed.”
