a Canadian research suggests that taking just one dose of the immune system booster provides 90% protection against hospitalization and prevents most infections with the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19, according to The Sun.

“There are different types that threaten the end of the pandemic,” said Min Bangalos, AstraZeneca’s vice president.

He added, “These new data indicate that the vaccine provides high protection against the most severe forms of the disease even after taking a single dose.”

However, scientists stress that it is critical for people to take the second dose to ensure maximum protection against the virus.

The Canadian study confirms that only three out of 10 people who have been vaccinated can become victims of SARS-CoV-2.

Moreover, it showed that the vaccine is “highly effective” against the South African and Brazilian variants.

The survey compared vaccination rates for 70,000 individuals who tested positive for Covid-19 between December and May in Canada.
