Schools and universities in Santa Catarina will operate under new rules from Thursday (12). The state government publishes in the Official Gazette, Wednesday, a decree imposing new measures Fighting Covid-19. The minimum distance between students in the classroom decreases from 1.5 m to 1 m, as was already expected. Students and teachers who have been vaccinated should return to direct activities 28 days after the second or single dose, including at-risk groups. Vaccination will be mandatory for all education personnel.
Municipalities and private schools have been pushing for change Minimum distance This allows in practice more students to attend classroom instruction. In most cases, 100% of the registrants will be able to participate in the classes. When there is not enough space, each unit must plan the operation in mixed mode – part of the class is in the classroom, the other is online. Standards for distance teaching and compulsory attendance will be the responsibility of each educational network.
NS distance: after 1.5 meters is still valid in other educational places, especially food. Masks are still mandatory, as is the natural ventilation of environments.
The educational institution shall monitor daily workers and students who show signs and symptoms of influenza on all shifts. When there are suspicious cases, you must inform the health authorities of the relevant municipality. The decree gives 30 days for early childhood education centers, schools and universities to make the necessary adjustments.
NS new decree Lists 11 cases that may justify students continuing in distance education (pregnancy, postpartum women, severe obesity, asthma, congenital, rare, genetic or autoimmune diseases, neoplasms, immune depression, acute hemoglobinopathy, cardiovascular diseases, chronic neurological diseases and diabetes mellitus).
However, those who have been fully vaccinated must return to face-to-face activities 28 days after the last dose. The same goes for all employees in risk groups or who have members of these groups. For servers, there will be no option to work remotely.
In addition to the professionals working in the classroom, assistants, technicians, administrators, educational staff, cleaning, food, public services, school transportation, outside workers, interns and volunteers will also be vaccinated. Copies of vaccination certificates must be submitted to the immediate supervisor. In case of any impediment to vaccination, the worker must submit documents proving the clinical cause.
In parallel with the decree, a joint decree between the departments of education and health should be published providing for the testing of classes with positive cases.
