Joao Wahnon, Director of Fusion Fuel, revealed to JE that the investment will be directed to the green hydrogen production project in Sines with a capacity of 630 MW and a global investment of approximately 650 million euros.

Fusion Fuel, a Portuguese Wall Street company, will receive European funds for its green hydrogen project in Sense, which has investments amounting to 650 million euros and is scheduled to run until 2029.

The decision was announced on Thursday by the European Commission and in Friday's edition, Fusion Fuel revealed to JE the project in question. “This is a green hydrogen production project in Sines with a capacity of 630 MW and a global investment of about 650 million euros,” Joao Wahnon, the company’s founder, told JE.

“Green hydrogen will be exported in the form of green ammonia from the port of Sens to Rotterdam. The deadline for the project to become operational will be 2029,” the official added.

In response to a question about the value of the European funding, he said that it could not be revealed yet, and that he was awaiting notification from Brussels. The company has developed its own technology for producing green hydrogen: Hevo-Solar, a solar photovoltaic module that powers 288 small electrolyzers (Hevo) with a total capacity to produce one ton of green hydrogen per year using solar energy alone.
