13 hours of waiting for urgent patients at Penafiel Hospital on the first day of the year

Average waiting times for urgent patients exceeded 11 am today, 1 pm at Peñafiel Hospital, and nine hours at Amadora Sintra Hospital, according to National Health Service portal data.

The data indicates the average waiting time for care in the last two hours, and the number of patients presented shows people currently waiting for care, after screening.

According to data from the SNS portal, consulted by the Lusa agency, at Padre Américo Hospital, in Peñafiel, Porto region, the waiting time for urgent patients was 13 hours and 26 minutes, while the recommended time is 60 minutes, with six people waiting at 11: 00 wearing a yellow bracelet

At Fernando Fonseca Hospital (Amadora-Sintra), the waiting time for patients classified as urgent (yellow bracelet) was nine hours and 31 minutes, with 10 patients waiting at that time.

The waiting time at Santa Maria Hospital, in Lisbon, was six hours and 23 minutes at 11:00, with 17 people being examined with a yellow bracelet.

In the general emergency department of São Bernardo Hospital, in Setubal, the waiting time was five hours and 40 minutes, and five patients were considered urgent.

At Beatrice Angelo Hospital, the waiting time was four hours and 32 minutes, and 15 people were classified as urgent.

In Viseu, at the São Teotonio Hospital, the waiting time for urgent patients was four hours and 12 minutes, with 15 patients waiting for care, after triage.

Today and Tuesday, 187 health centers are open to respond to acute, non-emergency disease cases, according to Ministry of Health data.

The Ministry of Health advises that in the case of acute, non-emergency illness, the use of alternatives available to emergency services, such as health centers and SNS 24 digital services, “contributes to reducing pressure on emergency services in hospitals, through services that can be provided at other points in the health services authority.” “Nationalism.”
