The ambition to fight to become a champion may bring Wendell back to the national team, Jeromell predicts.
With slates in the first divisions for Portugal and Germany, where he represented V. Guimarães and Colónia, respectively, Geromel shared the Grémio resort with Wendell, in 2014, anticipating a quick adaptation left to the Bwin League.
“He will not have any problems, he already has a long European experience and will arrive in Portugal at his best,” said the 35-year-old defender, in response to questions from O JOGO. For Jeromell, his former teammate may benefit from the knowledge gained over seven seasons in the demanding German league. “He is a light player, climbs well on the ground, but does not neglect the defensive task. He has spent these years in a very physical tournament. He is very prepared for the level of a club like FC Porto. With the drive of being a champion, he will certainly return with a level of choice”, predicts the former Vitoria .
It should be noted that during his time at Grémio, Wendell had two top teachers in the left lane: former Brazil international Zé Roberto and, oddly enough, former FC Porto with a long history of blue and white, Alex Telles.
