The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrived with the highest praise from the press and players were quick to add their voices to declare love poetry in Nintendo’s latest creation.
With an average of 97, it is the best game ever on OpenCritic and the second best game revealed by GI.biz, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the biggest physical release of 2023 in the UK, with sales 173% higher than Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
By becoming the top physical release of 2023 in the United Kingdom, Zelda: Kingdom has managed to sell more physical units than Hogwarts Legacy (54% more than Warner Bros. Games’ game), another colossus that has given a lot to talk about over the past few months.
With first-day sales, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has already surpassed the total sales of The Legend of Zelda games like Skyward Sword, The Wind Waker and A Link Between Worlds.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are Nintendo’s best UK releases, but Zelda: Kingdom is “slightly behind”.
It wasn’t a huge Switch release, as it fell a bit short of what Pokemon Scarlet and Violet managed last year. Launch is 173% larger than Breath of the Wild
