AndIn statements to Lusa, Monica Freitas, who traveled today to the island of Porto Santo to promote the party’s electoral program, said that she is concerned about the difficulties experienced by the residents of Porto Santo in obtaining education and health, due to the lack of investment. On the move.

“One of our proposals is to create a health pass to ensure that people from Porto Santo, when they have to travel to the island of Madeira, will see reduced costs, not only for the trip, but also for the potential stay, which “it is almost mandatory because of the travel times, which do not always coincide.” With consultation and exam times. “The health card will provide Porto Santo residents with support for their travel and accommodation,” he said.

The candidate also said that the PAN advocates the free transportation of companion animals for medical and veterinary purposes, which is only available on the island of Madeira, and free vaccination of all animals.

“When your animal needs to go to a veterinary appointment for which there is no service in Porto Santo, free transportation should be guaranteed,” he stressed.

Mónica Freitas told Lusa that the National Action Party went to Porto Santo in an election campaign similar to what they were doing in other municipalities on the island of Madeira.

“We did not want to leave the island of Porto Santo,” he said. “We will spend the day listening to people and introducing our electoral program.”

The leader of the People-Animais-Natureza (PAN) list for the Madeira elections, who walked through the center of Porto Santo in the morning and will continue in the afternoon around the center of the island, will also inform the residents of Porto Santo about the party’s proposals in the field of education.

“Another issue is related to education. There should be a greater focus on providing training to young people in Porto Santo. The National Action Party in its election platform has envisaged the creation of a university center to retain young people and also attract them to studies and research in the economies most closely linked to the green economy and the blue economy through Renewable energy”.

In its first regional elections in 2011, the National Action Party was able to elect a deputy, but it was unable to repeat its representation in all the elections that took place after that.

In the regional legislatures in Madeira, scheduled to be held on September 24, 13 candidates are competing, who will compete for 47 seats in the regional parliament, in one electoral district.

PTP, JPP, BE, PS, Chega, RIR, MPT, ADN, PSD/CDS-PP (Somos Madeira coalition), PAN, Livre, CDU (PCP/PEV) and IL are the political forces that stand to vote.

In the previous regional elections, in 2019, the Social Democrats elected 21 deputies, losing for the first time the absolute majority they had enjoyed since 1976, and they formed a coalition government with the CDS-PP (three deputies). The Socialist Party won 19 states, the Justice and Development Party won three states, and the Christian Democratic Union Party won three states.
