On Saturday (2), the Ministry of Health will organize a Dengue Mobilization Day across the country. The aim of this event, called “Brazil United Against Dengue”, is to implement an integrated national mobilization process in all states, inviting civil society, digital influencers, media and local actors to raise awareness among the population about the characteristics of dengue and its prevention. procedures.

Under the slogan “Ten minutes against dengue”, the national mobilization aims to strengthen measures to prevent and eliminate mosquito outbreaks. According to the ministry, this measure will see widespread participation from health agents, ministers, governors, mayors and secretaries to be spokespersons for the fight against the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

Health Secretary Nicia Trindade met this week with state health secretaries to rally states around the initiative and promote actions to prevent and eliminate mosquito outbreaks. During the meeting, the Minister stressed the need for the Union’s entities to unite to confront the outbreak of the disease.

“This is a time for attention not only from the health authorities and the Ministry of Health, but also from society as a whole,” he warned.

Since the beginning of the year, Brazil has recorded 1,038,475 probable cases of dengue fever and 258 confirmed deaths from the disease. A further 651 deaths are being investigated. The incidence of dengue fever in the country currently stands at 511.4 cases per group of 100,000 people, according to the Arbovirus Monitoring Committee.

The Federal Government recently launched the Ten Minutes Campaign against Dengue. The content suggests that citizens devote ten minutes a week to combating dengue fever, as about 75% of its breeding sites are in homes.
