UK Home Secretary James Wise and Rwanda’s Foreign Minister Vincent Bruta signed a new deal in the Rwandan capital Kigali today (5) to relocate migrants illegally entering British territory as part of the London Programme. Reduce migration.

“The new agreement we signed addresses all the concerns of the Supreme Court judges. We are working closely with our Rwandan partners to ensure this happens,” Wise said at a press conference in Kigali.
Rwanda’s foreign minister also supported the new deal. “We believe that we are doing the right thing to contribute to solving this global migration crisis. Until we solve the root cause that creates these refugees, it makes no sense to continue criticizing a country like Rwanda that contributes to the solution. We have been wronged by international organizations, the press and the courts,” he said.
Last month, the UK Supreme Court ruled that, in light of the evidence, asylum seekers sent to Rwanda were at risk of deportation to their home countries.
The decision was a major setback for the British Conservative government’s migration policy – the Rwanda Project – launched in April 2020 when Boris Johnson was prime minister. and France.
