Twitter founder Jack Dorsey has apologized to the company’s workers, blaming the dismissal carried out by the new owner, Elon Musk.
Dorsey lamented “it made the company grow too fast” and said he was solely responsible for such a decision, which has now led to nearly half of the workers leaving.
“I realized that a lot [pessoas] are you mad on me. I am responsible for everyone in this situation: the company has developed very quickly. And I apologize for that, ”the founder of the social network wrote on his personal page.
Dorsey also stressed that Twitter faces for the present and the future are “strong and resilient” and therefore the company “will always find a way, no matter how difficult the moment.”
At the end of the post, he said, “I am grateful and love everyone who has ever worked on Twitter. I don’t expect it to be reciprocal.”
Dorsey resigned as CEO of the company in November 2021 and has been no longer part of the decision-making bodies since last May.
Elon Musk recently revealed that the social networking site Twitter is losing four million dollars (about four million euros) per day, justifying the firing of employees.
Without specifying the total number of layoffs, Musk justified the decision in a message posted on that network: “There is no choice when the company loses about four million a day.”
