Türkiye: Besiktas defeats Galatasaray and approaches Fenerbahce Jorge Jesus – International

Gedson Fernandes’ side, Besiktas, beat Galatasaray, the current leader of the Turkish championship, 3-1 this Sunday, a result that helped Fenerbahçe’s Jorge Jesus move closer to the leaderboard – the top three are now separated by five points. Mauro Icardi opened the confrontations in the 20th minute, but shortly after (35 minutes), Moroccan Romain Saïss let it all tie up as he returned to the dressing room at half-time. In the first minutes of the second half, Emir Hajitović made it 2-1 (58) and, already off the bench (he left in the 90th minute), saw former FC Porto player Vincent Aboubakar set the final score at 3-1. With this result, Galatasaray remains at the top of the championship with 70 points, although the point advantage for vice-captain Fenerbahçe is only three points (the two teams are still facing each other until the end of the championship). On the other hand, Besiktas is in third place, but now it has 65 points (five points less than the current leaders of the competition).
