Three people have died and two are seriously injured after an alleged family dispute in the Lautlingen area, in the Bad Württemberg region, southwest Germany, where 100 emergency vehicles and two rescue helicopters are still on the scene.

This information is provided by Bild, citing a spokesperson for the region’s Interior Ministry.

Investigators believe it was a family crime.

The attack left three people dead, including the 63-year-old perpetrator, who was found in the family’s garden, according to information from state news channel SWR.

Several firearms were registered to the suspect. Authorities said two women were seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Lütlingen, a neighbourhood in Alpstadt with a population of 1,800, at around 12:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. in Lisbon).

Police cordoned off a large area, according to eyewitnesses, and sent in special forces, but authorities say there is no longer any danger to residents.

According to information from SWR, several firearms were registered in the name of the alleged perpetrator.
