Airports are places where stress levels can be high. A study conducted by StressFreeCarRental.com identified the most stressful airports in Europe.

Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris was considered the most stressful airport for tourists traveling to it, as more than 57 million passengers pass through it annually.

London’s Heathrow Airport appears to be the second most stressful airport, with the worst record of delays of any of the busiest airports in Europe.

Gatwick Airport comes in third place at 45.7km, and is the farthest from the nearest city, meaning passengers often arrive tired before checking in.

Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport ranks as the fifth most stressful airport, handling more than 52 million passengers a year – and still scores a 2.1 for departure delays and exorbitant parking fees of more than €110 per week.

Despite slow Wi-Fi, Munich ranks sixth but has the second-lowest score for aircraft departure delay (1.7), serving 31 million passengers in 65 airport restaurants.

Frankfurt Airport in Germany ranks seventh because it is the most expensive place to park a car for a week (€234) – a significant difference from the cheapest location at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome, Italy (which is fourth in the ranking). It costs only 20 euros for seven days.

Frankfurt Airport is the closest airport to the city center, at a distance of only 13.3 km, followed by Barcelona, 13.7 km away, and Istanbul, 17.2 km away.

Josep Tradias Barcelona El Prat Airport in Spain is rated as the least stressful airport on the list, with some of the lowest passenger traffic, cheap parking, and few departure delays, as well as its proximity to the city center (Barcelona).
