After Naomi Campbell and other models dressed Humanity ai pin At Paris Fashion Week in September, a smartphone-shaped pin created by former Apple employees Bethany Bongiorno and Imran Chowdhury became a reality and was available for sale on the startup’s website.

In a presentation about the new equipment this week, the founders revealed that Ai Pin’s goal is to reduce dependence on screens, using artificial intelligence (AI).

The gadget, which is used as a pin, attached to clothing, communicates with the AI models through AI Mic, the company’s own software, and allows access to typical functions of a smartphone, such as writing and reading messages, making calls or summarizing new messages from the mailbox. But it also allows you to read food labels through the built-in camera or perform real-time translations.

Humane states that access to ChatGPT is one of the key features of the device. Its operating system, called Cosmos, is designed to automatically route users’ voice or gesture requests to the right tools, rather than requiring them to download and manage apps.

Technology website The Verge writes that this could be the beginning of a larger project for the startup Humane and that the list of available features will increase as new models are launched.

The Humane Ai Pin is available in the US starting November 16 for $699 (€651).
