The Federation has set the value of the federal incentive at R $ 2,824 thousand to finance community health agents and health surveillance agents throughout this year. This correction, retroactive to January, was published in the Official Gazette. This payment, which will be paid monthly, aims to combat endemic diseases in 2024. As of last Wednesday (21), Brazil had already recorded about 668 thousand cases of dengue fever.

The amount is sent by the Ministry of Health to the states and municipalities, with the aim of ensuring the payment of the minimum wage for this category, which corresponds to two minimum wages, exactly 2,824 thousand Brazilian reals. According to the ministry, there are 278,000 agents in the country and 34.8 thousand were approved last year alone. The federal government indicates that in 2024, another 25,000 professionals will join the teams.
