To avoid the presence of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits dengue, Zika, and chikungunya, it is essential to constantly check backyards, gutters, and drains, among other places where stagnant rainwater accumulates.

According to the epidemiological surveillance coordinator, it is important that people receive endemic agents, who present themselves properly dressed and are identified with badges from the municipal health department and work to prevent actions by neighborhoods. “Lervicides and insecticides are being applied, and now we are doing educational activities in schools,” Ramos said.
