The World Health Organization has also issued an alert about the increase in arboviruses, such as dengue, Zika and chikungunya.


An amount of R$256 million has also been transferred from the Ministry of Health to states and municipalities to help combat dengue fever, as a prevention and control measure.

According to an updated report by the Ministry of Health, 243,721 possible cases of dengue fever were recorded as of Wednesday. There are also 163 deaths under investigation and 24 confirmed dengue deaths.
