The tool encourages the implementation of 16 strategic initiatives and 31 local recommendations that allow, through technological solutions, to anticipate, manage and plan the needs of regions.

On Monday, the government will present the first national intelligence territory strategy, in order to make life easier for people and companies through data, “in an effective and sustainable management of the territory based on innovation and transparency.”

According to a statement issued by the Minister of State for Digitization and Administrative Modernization, this is an investment worth $60 million within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience (PRR) Plan.

“The importance of presenting the first national strategy for the regions

“Benefiting from a smarter management of essential resources in the regions,” said Mario Campolargo, Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization, in a statement.

“In the collaborative design and construction, local authorities, regional coordination and development committees, inter-municipal communities and various entities actively participated, including companies in the fields of technology and communications, higher education institutions and organizations integrated into the national science and technology system.” The statement stated.

The statement said that this tool will enhance the implementation of “16 strategic initiatives and 31 local recommendations, which allow, through technological solutions, to anticipate, manage and plan the needs of regions, covering urban and rural areas, in a commitment to promoting territorial equality.”

Mario Campolargo’s office indicates that this strategy depends on several areas, namely governance, society, mobility, quality of life, environment and economy. The various actions that will be included in this strategy will focus on the smart management of basic resources such as water or energy.

It should be remembered that in October this year, the Minister of Foreign Affairs revealed to the newspaper Jornal Económico that by the end of the year, Portugal will have “four new national strategies linked to technology”, namely smart regions (smart cities), industrial regions intelligence, data and Web 3.0.
