Multi-platinum band confirms October–November 2026 arena and theatre dates across Europe and the UK

American alt-rock band The Fray have announced a major UK and European tour for autumn 2026, coinciding with the release of their long-awaited new album A Light That Waits.

The multi-platinum group confirmed that the “Autumn Light Tour” will begin on 27 October in Wroclaw, Poland, before travelling through several major European cities including Berlin, Stockholm, Paris, Milan and Brussels. The run will conclude in the United Kingdom in mid-November with scheduled shows in Bristol, London, Glasgow and Manchester.

Tickets and VIP packages will go on general sale on Friday 20 March at 10am local time, with fans able to access an earlier pre-sale on Wednesday 18 March by registering through the band’s official website. Additional Spotify presales will begin on Thursday 19 March.

New album marks creative return for the band

The tour announcement follows the release of the band’s latest studio album, A Light That Waits, their first full-length project in several years. The record signals what the group describe as a renewed creative phase, built around emotional storytelling and cinematic songwriting that has long characterised their sound.

According to the band, the new tour will focus on introducing the album’s material to live audiences across Europe and the UK.

“We have such great memories of touring in the summer. The vibe for us and for the fans is something that we’ve all really connected with and had a good time with over the history of The Fray,” Wysocki says. “Getting these new songs in front of people is going to be exciting.

The release of A Light That Waits also reflects a new collaborative approach within the band. Members Joe King, Ben Wysocki and Dave Welsh co-wrote all eleven tracks on the album together, marking the first time the trio have jointly written every song on a full-length record.

Among the tracks featured on the album is the current single “Ice Cold Lakes”, which the band recently performed during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show as part of the album’s launch week.

Release week promotions include GRAMMY Museum appearance

To mark the album’s release, The Fray launched a series of promotional appearances in the United States, including a live performance and discussion at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles. The event, moderated by journalist and producer Adam Weissler, saw the band perform for a sold-out audience while reflecting on their career and previewing material from the new record.

The promotional activity coincides with renewed recognition of the group’s earlier catalogue. Their breakthrough album How to Save a Life was recently certified 5× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), reinforcing the enduring commercial performance of the band’s early work.

Originally released in 2005, the album remains one of the best-selling digital debut records and helped propel the group to international success.

A two-decade legacy in alternative rock

Formed in the early 2000s, The Fray gained widespread recognition for their introspective alternative rock sound and melodic songwriting. Over the course of their career, the band has accumulated four GRAMMY Award nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, multiple Billboard Top 10 singles and a global fanbase.

Their breakout single “How to Save a Life” became one of the defining tracks of the decade. The song achieved RIAA Diamond certification, remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 58 weeks, and gained additional exposure through its association with the Emmy-winning television series Grey’s Anatomy.

Following a hiatus lasting nearly a decade, the band returned to performing in 2024 and have since been preparing new material, culminating in the release of A Light That Waits earlier this month.

Looking ahead

With a new album and multiple international tours planned for 2026, The Fray appear to be entering a renewed phase of activity more than two decades after their emergence on the alternative rock scene.
