Final preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. The event could inject more than €28m into Merseyside’s economy
The city of Liverpool, famous for its music and the bands that were born there, for example The Beatles, awaits with great anticipation the participants of the Eurovision Song Contest.
“I would say the city is on the rise. To be honest with you, We are really looking forward to the festival. Everywhere you go there are signs of the Eurovision Song Contest. Everyone is excited. That will be fine! – says one of the residents of the English city.
Another Liverpool resident thinks the event “will make a lot of money for the city. Hotel business, pubs and even taxis. It will be great for the city.”
For some Ukrainian refugees, whose country won the Eurovision Song Contest last year, Liverpool is now home.
In Liverpool hosting the festival, one refugee expressed his support: “I think it’s fair because the UK helped Ukraine a lot.”
“The Eurovision Song Contest is set to inject £25m into the Merseyside economy And that, in addition, there will be a 5% increase in the number of European tourists coming to this city every year, ”according to Euronews correspondent Luke Hanrahan.
Inside the arena, in Liverpool’s Albert Dock, the collection is themed around the theme of “unity, celebration and community”. Ukrainian composer Michael Nekrasov wrote the soundtrack for this year’s event
The Eurovision Song Contest was supposed to take place in Ukraine but the Russian invasion does not allow it. Liverpool entered as an alternative city and intends to make Ukrainians proud.
