Caio Benicio, an online meal delivery worker, was passing through Parnell Square East, north of Dublin, Ireland, at the time of the stabbing of five people. He intervened and hit the attacker in the head with his finger. Helmet, presented by Irish station RTÉ.
The courier, a Brazilian immigrant who has been living in Ireland for a year, noticed a disturbance, which he thought was an altercation between a man and a woman. He got closer and realized the case was more serious, when he saw “a woman pushing a girl away” from the man.
When the delivery man saw that the attacker had a knife and was stabbing the young woman, the delivery man put down his bike, picked up his helmet and “hit him on the head as hard as he could”, causing the man to fall. And allow more people to get involved.
In statements to the local police, Cayo said that this behavior was “innate,” because he was “in shock” and did not have time to “be afraid.”
On Wednesday night, the Irish capital witnessed moments of tension as anti-immigration demonstrators set fire to buses, attacked police officers, and destroyed stores, after it turned out that the attacker had Algerian citizenship.
As an immigrant, Caio Benicio remembers that he was an immigrant and that he “was there to protect the Irish people.”

Caio also adds that “most people are in the country to work hard” and that the work they do “is good for the country” and for Irish citizens.
