British airline Flybe, which was led by the current CEO of TAP between January 2017 and July 2019, insolvent, according to a court decision, this Saturday appointed two recipients.

On the carrier’s website it states that “Flybe has ceased operations and all flights to and from the UK operated by Flybe have been canceled and will not be rescheduled”.

Passengers are also advised that “if you have planned to fly with Flybe today or in the future, do not go to the airport unless you have an alternative flight with another airline, because “unfortunately, Flybe cannot provide alternative flights to passengers.”

According to the BBC, in March 2020 the company had already canceled operations, citing the pandemic as a contributing factor. The company was rescued after it was bought by Thyme Opco, a company linked to US hedge fund Cyrus Capital and later renamed Flybe Limited. The airline has resumed operations with a plan to operate up to 530 flights per week on 23 routes.

To date, Flybe has operated flights on 21 routes from Belfast, Birmingham and Heathrow to airports across the UK, as well as to Amsterdam and Geneva.

Of the 321 workers, Flybe fired 277, leaving 44 at the company.
