The ‘technical glitch’ in UK air traffic control has now been resolved

The UK’s National Air Traffic Control Service reported this afternoon that the technical glitch that caused several flights to be delayed has been “identified and resolved”.

The UK’s National Air Traffic Control Service (NATS) reported at 3:15pm on its official website that the “technical fault” affecting the UK’s air traffic control network since Monday morning had been “identified and resolved”.

“We are now working with airlines and airports to find solutions for affected flights in the most efficient way possible,” the memo said. “Our engineers will carefully monitor the system’s operation when we return to normal operations.”

NATS also notes that the failure “impacted on the system’s ability to process flight plans automatically, i.e. they had to be processed manually, which necessarily takes longer, and hence flight restrictions. Our priority is that we will always ensure that all flights within the UK we We are safe and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

By early afternoon, several planes had been waiting for several hours to land. British airspace was not closed, but there were strict restrictions.

ANA source – Aeroportos de Portugal admitted this CNN That restrictions on UK airspace may have “some impact” on flights to and from the UK at all national airports, and there may be delays or cancellations. ANA advises passengers departing from or arriving at Portuguese airports to contact their airlines to find out more information about the status of flights scheduled this Monday.
